Banc
Internet Group Renamed to Goldleaf Technologies,
Adds David Peterson to Executive Staff
Brentwood, TN (8/10/01)
Banc Internet Group (BIG) announces that, following the purchase
of all ACH- and Server/Client - Server/Client - GOLDNET-related products, services, and assets
from Certegy E-Banking Services, it has decided to rename the
company to Goldleaf Technologies, Inc. This decision revives the
Goldleaf name, still recognized as the leader in ACH products
and service to the independent banking marketplace. Effective
immediately, all 1,400 software and Internet services customers
will receive services, maintenance, and support from Goldleaf.
"The more we talked with financial institutions and industry
stakeholders, the more the name Goldleaf came up as a positively
recognized brand," states Paul McCulloch, CEO of Goldleaf
Technologies, Inc. "Our company has become so much more than
just banking and the Internet, we feel that Goldleaf Technologies
would be more appropriate than Banc Internet Group to match our
future opportunities."
Originally founded in 1990 by David L. Peterson,
Goldleaf Technologies quickly made a mark as a provider of excellent
software and superior customer service. In 1997, Goldleaf was
sold to Equifax and later became Equifax E-Banking Solutions.
When the ACH and Server/Client - Server/Client - GOLDNET assets were acquired in July, the Goldleaf
name was one of the assets, and Banc Internet Group decided to
get an immediate return on its investment by renaming the company.
The new Goldleaf Technologies will have offices in Brentwood,
Tennessee, and Hahira, Georgia, and satellite offices in Chicago,
Illinois, Lake Mary, Florida, and Alpharetta, Georgia.
In a related move, David L. Peterson has accepted a senior management
position with the new Goldleaf and has joined as Executive Vice
President. Peterson will transition all of the products, services,
employees, and customers into the new organization and focus on
software and business development. "I am very excited about
returning to my roots providing software for the independent financial
institution market," exclaimed Peterson. "I look forward
to working together with the rest of the Goldleaf team to make
the new Goldleaf even stronger and more successful than the original
Goldleaf."
