Goldleaf Technologies, Inc. Teams with RSA Security to Further Increase Online Security for its Banking and Credit Union Customers

Goldleaf Technologies, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldleaf Financial Solutions, Inc. is pleased to announced the company now offers the RSA® Adaptive Authentication solution to its banking and credit union customers.

As a leading provider of technology-based solutions for financial institutions the strategic relationship with RSA Security enables Goldleaf’s participating financial institutions to be more proactive in the prevention of online fraud – and have the tools to remain compliant with federal guidelines for multi-factor authentication.

“We chose RSA Security not only because it is the market leader, but because it offers the solution that is best suited to our clients’ needs,” said Lynn Boggs, CEO of Goldleaf Financial Solutions. “When Goldleaf started its search, we looked for a solution with a user-friendly front-end and a sophisticated back-end. While other vendors had one or the other, RSA Security delivered both. We want to provide our customers with superior solutions, and the RSA Adaptive Authentication solution is one of the most comprehensive multi-factor authentication tools available.”

Using the 2005 Federal Financial Institutions Examiners Council (FFIEC) guidance entitled Authentication in an Internet Banking Environment, Goldleaf Technologies searched for a business solution that not only met the criteria within the guidance, but was also best-positioned to respond to future requirements. The guidance focuses on the risks associated with online banking, and the need for financial institutions to periodically conduct risk-based assessments and develop security measures to authenticate customers remotely accessing Internet-based financial services.

Goldleaf Technologies researched several multi-factor authentication providers and surveyed its existing customers to determine what was needed in an online fraud solution. The majority of the financial institutions responded that they wanted a solution that was easy to use and non-intrusive to customers.

In addition to implementing the RSA Adaptive Authentication solution, Goldleaf Technologies will offer its customers the opportunity to join the RSA eFraudNetwork™ community, the world’s largest cross-bank collaborative online anti-fraud network. RSA Security’s fraud engine is designed to monitor online transactions for fraudulent activity; post confirmed fraudster profiles into the eFraudNetwork community, thereby giving members instant protection against current threats; and provide updates to all network members in real time. Use of the fraud engine has resulted in a significant reduction in fraud-related costs to some members of the network.

“Banks today must consistently seek ways to protect their customers from fraudulent activity while expanding their online banking services,” said Chris Young, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Solutions Division, RSA Security. “Our solutions are designed to be convenient, scalable and cost-effective while giving institutions a solid tool with which they can protect their customers’ financial information. Using this solution, Goldleaf’s clients will be positioned to remain in compliance with FFIEC guidelines while getting the best online fraud protection in the market today.”
