First Bank Chooses Goldleaf to Provide Remote Deposit Service
Solution Offers Remote Web-Based Submission of Check
Deposits from Merchant Sites
Brentwood, TN —May 19, 2005—Goldleaf Technologies,
Inc., a leading provider of Web-based ACH origination and check
conversion solutions, announced today that Olympia, WA-based
Thurston First Bank has chosen its Remote Deposit Express™ solution
to provide business customers with remote Web-based truncation
and submission of check deposits.
“Businesses are our focus, and Remote Deposit Express is a tremendous
tool that will enable us to better serve and secure relationships
with our commercial clientele,” says Patti Wheeler, AVP Marketing
with Thurston First. “We are known for our cutting-edge electronic
services and the flexibility, mobility, and efficiency our services
afford to business customers. Goldleaf's Remote Deposit Express
is a perfect fit; it is Web-based and simple to use, both for
us and our clientele.”
Remote Deposit Express is a Web-based, bank-branded, front-end
solution that requires no software installation. Merchants scan,
truncate, and submit checks electronically through a secure,
128-bit RS4 encrypted Internet connection. Financial institutions
may process the standardized X9.37 check image files electronically
or on paper as substitute checks, making implementation of Remote
Deposit Express independent of an institution's Check-21 readiness
on the backend.
“This year, remote deposit services are quickly redefining market
geography and upending traditional branch strategy,” says Goldleaf
Technologies CEO, Paul McCulloch . “The first financial
institution that places a check scanner at the business site
wins that business' deposit relationship,” he continues. “With
remote deposit, financial institutions like Thurston First Bank
can service any business anywhere. It frees loan officers to
pursue and book new commercial accounts like never before.”
Remote Deposit Express is a simple, optional module on the existing
Web-based Goldleaf Client™ system that many financial institutions
already use to provide ACH origination services. As such, financial
institutions may now offer remote deposit (i.e., check truncation)
services and/or ACH origination/check-conversion services to
participating businesses via one Web-based, front-end using a
single scanner.
